These terms explain the rules for using the Soroptimist International of Helena website, creating an account, making payments, and participating in our online programs.

By accessing or using this website, creating an account, paying membership dues, or purchasing a raffle ticket, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. About Soroptimist International of Helena
This website is operated by Soroptimist International of Helena (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a volunteer organization supporting programs and educational opportunities for women and girls. References to the “website” or “services” include this site, member accounts, online membership payments, raffle-ticket purchases, contact forms, and related features we make available.
2. Eligibility and authority
You may use general informational portions of the website if you can comply with these terms. To create an account or enter into a transaction, you must be legally able to form a binding agreement or act with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. Additional eligibility rules may apply to memberships, scholarships, raffles, and other programs. You are responsible for confirming that your participation is lawful where you live.
3. Accounts and security
You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, passkey, and account session, and for activity performed through your account.
Notify us promptly through our contact page if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. We may suspend or close an account to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with law, or enforce these terms.
4. Payments, dues, and receipts
Prices and amounts are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. You authorize our payment processor to charge the payment method you select for the displayed amount. Payment processing is provided by Stripe and is also subject to Stripe’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
Membership status, benefits, duration, and dues are subject to Soroptimist International of Helena’s bylaws, membership requirements, and policies. Completing a payment does not override those requirements. If a price or description is materially incorrect, we may cancel or correct the transaction and provide an appropriate refund.
Refunds are not guaranteed and are considered based on the applicable program or raffle rules, the circumstances, and governing law. Contact us promptly if you believe a charge was made in error. A membership payment, raffle-ticket purchase, or other payment is not necessarily tax-deductible; consult your tax adviser regarding your circumstances.
5. Raffles
Raffles are offered only where permitted by law. Each raffle’s page and any accompanying official materials may provide additional rules, including eligibility, ticket price, sales period, prize, drawing, winner-selection, claim, and delivery information (“Raffle Rules”). The Raffle Rules are incorporated into these terms and control if they conflict with these general terms.
- You may not purchase or receive a ticket where the transaction or raffle is prohibited.
- A ticket purchase provides a chance to win; it does not guarantee a prize. Odds depend on the number of eligible tickets entered.
- Entries that are incomplete, unpaid, fraudulent, duplicated through error, prohibited, or otherwise ineligible may be rejected or voided.
- Winners may be required to verify identity and eligibility and complete reasonable claim documentation. Unless the Raffle Rules say otherwise, winners are responsible for taxes and costs associated with accepting a prize.
- If a raffle cannot proceed as planned, we may suspend, modify, reschedule, or cancel it as permitted by law and will determine an appropriate treatment of eligible entries and payments.
A raffle-ticket purchase is separate from a charitable donation and should not be treated as tax-deductible without advice from a qualified tax professional.
6. Scholarships, awards, and programs
Program descriptions are provided for general information. Eligibility, deadlines, application requirements, selection criteria, award amounts, and availability may change or be governed by separate official materials. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection or funding. If an application is hosted by another organization or service, that provider’s terms and privacy practices also apply.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the website to:
- violate law, another person’s rights, or applicable program rules;
- submit false, misleading, fraudulent, threatening, abusive, or unlawful material;
- interfere with the website, bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, introduce malicious code, or attempt unauthorized access;
- use automated means to scrape, overload, or extract data from the website without our written permission; or
- impersonate another person or misuse payment information, accounts, tickets, receipts, or program materials.
8. Intellectual property
The website and its original text, design, graphics, logos, photographs, and other materials are owned by Soroptimist International of Helena or used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view and print reasonable portions for personal, noncommercial use. No other license is granted. Soroptimist names, emblems, and marks may also be subject to rights held by affiliated Soroptimist organizations.
9. Third-party services and links
The website may link to Stripe, social networks, affiliated organizations, application providers, sponsors, or other third parties. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, security, content, or practices. A link does not necessarily imply endorsement. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or current. Information on the website is general information and is not legal, tax, financial, or professional advice. Nothing in these terms limits a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soroptimist International of Helena and its officers, members, volunteers, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, goodwill, or opportunity arising from use of the website. Our aggregate liability arising from the website or these terms will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid directly to Soroptimist International of Helena through the website during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Lewis and Clark County, Montana, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
13. Changes and general provisions
We may update these terms as our services or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated when revisions are posted. Material changes will apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise. Continued use after revised terms take effect means you accept them.
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable program or Raffle Rules form the agreement governing your use of the website.
